Baggage

I want to write about baggage. I am not referring to the type of baggage that you have when you go to the airport, no not today, maybe next time.

Baggage as in relevant to the subject of self improvement is what I would like to hit on.

Many of us are trying out best to get through this world and to have a great life and make things happen.

Ultimately I believe as healthy human beings, we want happiness and contentment. Sure we have goals and life purposes to fill. We want family and friends in our lives and to enjoy the good things that come with living. Have nice, houses, cars, go out to nice restaurants etc.

A lot of us want these things and we can all have them.

What we don’t want in our lives is to live daily with the burdens and pain of old baggage.

You know what I am talking about, the feelings of fear, anxiety, sadness, anger and helplessness that seem to come from nowhere. These NEGATIVE emotions pop up at random times in your life and hold you back and prevent you from feeling truly HAPPY AND CONTENT.

Most of us have suffered from baggage that stems from old wounds in our pasts. We had incidents and events occur that we managed to place a negative meaning onto. We then let these seep deeply into our unconscious mind and forget that it exists.

The problem is that its still there circulating within us and becomes a part of our general makeup. We don’t consciously think about old wounds a lot of the time, but that doesn’t mean that we have dealt with them. These wounds stay within us and accumulate into BAGGAGE.

This baggage causes us to be vulnerable in certain circumstances in our lives. Events that occur can cause a stream of emotions to come flooding through us. These may be emotions of intense fear, anger, sadness and a general feeling of discontentment.

I believe that if we well and truly want to become the best that we can in life, to achieve our goals and dreams while at the same time always enjoying the process and feeling grateful living in the now.

We must remove and deal with our old wounds and thus remove the baggage!

There are many avenues you can take and you only have to look around at the options out there.
